Bike Computer Limitations

  1. Funny. Back in the day, I couldn’t even afford that now simple Cateye bike computer. Instead I would pull out a road map of the area and very meticulously plot the route by laying a length of dental floss along the streets I rode on. I measured that and then calculated the distance based on the mileage scale on the map. Those little 4.76 inch trips to work added up in the end. Bragging rights were measured in relative precision.

“How far was your ride today?”
“I dunno, about 15 or so miles, I guess.”
