Heh, pretty interesting for us typewriter geeks. I wonder if he was renting a brand new machine, which likely would have been a Royal FP by that point in time. Otherwise it could have been any one of a number of Royal standards released by '57.
Back in the 80's an old girlfriend took me to cool old bar in downtown Denver named "My Brother's Bar". The place had a framed letter hanging up that had been written by Neil Cassady to a friend in while Cassady was doing time in a Colorado prison. In the letter Cassady referred to the bar (operating under a different name back then).
