Actually, I am not taken aback by the responses which, in the end, address the need to work toward cultural understanding of race. That being said, the "white" response is garnered from the current Critical Race Theory books on the market (mostly written by white people) that address the dominant white culture(s) in the USA. That IS the dominant paradigm currently. The "black" response is basically a reaction to the dominant paradigm. Work is required on all fronts in all colors.
