I don't think that physical media will ever be redundant. It's making a big comeback right now. Especially Vinyl. But even cassettes are being sold again. I got the new sting album on cassette as well as the re release of Steve Vai's Flexable, recently. I also still have and watch VHS tapes. It's a complete different thing than streaming.
