Many years ago I had a roommate that introduced me to the whimsical P.G. Woodhouse. It was there I learned the meaning of "nobles oblige" comically. I can't help but think of Jeeves and Wooster when watching "Downton Abbey" lol. Happy New Year!
For me the ultimate screen version of Bertie and Jeeves will be "The World of Wooster" from the '60s of which apparently only two episodes now survive. Memories of watching it with my grandfather 50+ years ago. Love the vocab and wordplay in Wodehouse's writing.
